Limiting the ability for users to save over existing charts and applications can be handled by saving charts and applications in the Read-Only directory of the Axiom Core.
Both Axiom applications and charts allow for either Public, Private, or Read-Only access. All three directories are located on the Axiom Core.
- Private - A private folder on the Axiom server based on the users credentials (must be connected with Windows or Username/password credentials) where charts have been saved. Other users cannot see these charts.
- Public - All charts saved here are available to all Axiom users.
- Read Only - Charts can only be saved or moved here by a Canary Administrator. Users opening these charts are able to make changes while viewing but cannot save over the existing chart in this location.
To Save either Applications or Charts, follow these steps:
Saving Charts
Browser Version and Desktop Client
- To save a chart, click on the menu in the upper left hand corner of the chart (three horizontal lines)
- Select Save from the Charts section of the menu
- Choose either the Private, Public, or Read Only director by clicking on the name of the directory.
- If you wish to create a folder within the directory, click on the folder icon at left and name the folder.
- At the top of the menu, type the desired name of the chart under the Name heading.
- Click OK.
The hot key "CTRL+S" will save changes in the desktop client without displaying any confirmation.

Saving Applications
Browser Version Only
- When the Editor is open, the save icon will appear in the upper right portion of the application title bar.
- Click the Save icon.
- Choose either the Private, Public, or Read Only director by clicking on the name of the directory.
- If you wish to create a folder within the directory, click on the folder icon at left and name the folder.
- At the top of the menu, type the desired name of the application under the Name heading.
- Click OK.
