Permissions - Permissions are normally set on a DataSet node but can also be applied to branches and tags, limiting or granting access.
Browse - Hierarchical view of historians or View plugins. Allows expansion of the nodes to the level where permissions are to be assigned.
Explicit Permissions - Explicit permissions are permissions that are set by default when the object is created, or by user action. Explicit Permissions will take precedence over an Inherited Permission. The users or groups can be arranged by drag and drop of a User within the panel. If a user is explicitly added and is also a member of an explicit group, then the user should be listed above the group. If not the message "Unreachable Permission Detected!" would display.
Add... - Select the node under the Browse where the permission is to be applied and click Add to launch the Permission dialog.
Path - Shows level the permission will be applied.
User - Click the 'user...' button to select a user or group from the windows user selection dialog. The selected user will be added to the field and the "OK" button enabled.
Access - Select the access rights for this permission.

ReadWrite - Full access.

Read - Access limited to viewing only.

None - User is denied access.
OK/Cancel - Click OK to add the permission to the Explicit Permissions list.
Edit... - Select an Explicit Permission to enable Edit. Clicking this willl display the Permission (Edit) dialog similar to Add.
Remove - Select an Explicit Permission to enable Remove. Clicking Remove will delete the permission.
Copy - Select an Explicit Permission to enable Copy. Clicking this will copy all the properties of the permission.
Paste - After clicking the Copy button the Paste button will be enabled. This allows applying the same permission to multiple nodes.
Inherited Permissions - Inherited permissions are permissions that are given to an object because it is a child of a parent object.
Effective Permissions - Effective permission shows the access for a selected node and user.
User... - The 'user...' button is used to select a user or group from the windows user selection dialog.
Overview - Shows each path with a permission and the users and access.
Path - List of the nodes with a permission assigned.
Permissions - List of users and their permission for a node selected in the Path.
Settings - A checkbox which enables all security permissions assigned.
